Giving feedback is essential for learners, because it lets them know what their lacks are. Their gaps can be filled by instructors thorough the comments and advises they have given. So, we can say that feedback lead learners to right path in their learning process. But how should we give feedback?
-->How to give feedback?
You, as an instructor, either can encourage them by your comments on what has been done or can discourage them, so it's on your hands. The points that you must follow in giving feedback are below.
-Give feedback after the event.
(Don't interrupt, don't start giving advises in the middle of something, this is a disrespectful act, and plus discouraging.)
-Focus on positive.
(Start your comments with giving positive feedback, first focus on good parts and respect what has been done. It is always humanistic to start evaluating something from strongest points to the weakest ones.)
-Be clear about your points.
(Make sure that the learner understand what you want, do not give complex situations as an example.)
-Suggest the alternative behaviors.
(In giving negative feedback, always give some aternative examples of the desired situation on how it should be for the next time.)
-Here and now principle
(Do not give any bad example related to old issues. It is kind of an accusation like saying "You have always done this in that way." Not a good idea to say like this, so better to keep it for yourself!)
-Do not overload!
(It is discouraging for everyone and not humanistic.)
